Finding the Serial Number and Access Code

There are three ways to find the serial number and access code for MapInfo Pro:

• In MapInfo Pro 32-bit version, go to Help > click on About this MapInfo Product. The serial number and access code are displayed in the About this MapInfo Product dialog box. If it is a server based license (concurrent, borrowable or distributable), it will also contain Server Name and Port No. in this format: @. For example: (Fully licensed from 27000@PITNEYBOWES). For MapInfo Pro 64-bit, go to the backstage (PRO tab) [^1^].

• Go to the MapInfo installation directory and open UserInfo.log to get the Serial Number, Access Code, Server Name and Port number details [^1^].

• Through the Registry Editor. For MapInfo Pro 32-bit on a 64-bit Windows operating system, browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Wow6432Node\\MapInfo\\MapInfo\\Professional\\. Editing the Serial Number and Access Code

If you entered an incorrect serial number or access code when installing MapInfo Pro, or if you want to upgrade from a non-premium license to a premium license to access Bing roads, you can edit them by following these steps:

• If the Activation dialog opens when starting MapInfo Pro, select the email activation option. Once the email activation dialog opens, click the Edit button. Change the serial number and access code to the correct ones. Click Next only once. This will open a dialog with a heading of: \"Specify location to save Activation Request file\".
